Well here we are December. I love to see you but you always seem to sneak up on me, seriously where did that year go?! Now that I’ve survived Black Friday / Cyber Monday I can finally focus on Christmas and more importantly on picking a designer handbag to add to my Christmas list! I love accessories for Christmas especially, bags, watches, bracelets, shoes, scarfs… ok anything really!
If you’re a regular follower you’ll know I have a major soft spot for my Gucci Dionysus Blooms bag (check out my honest review here). I use it all the time (I’m sure you’re sick of it) but I’m not someone who keeps things for ‘good’. What’s the point in that? So I’m looking for the next big obsession, even if it’s just to give my Dionysus a break (it’s bound to be in breach of the EU Working Time Directive at this stage).
So I’ve done my research and pulled together a list of my favourite bags. The aim is to choose one but we’ll see! I love a classic bag. Something that isn’t necessarily the new IT bag but one that has been around for a while and is still going strong. One of those bags that you’re always happy to see and elevates your outfit no matter what you’re wearing. So here are my final options. I’m thinking of something in white, black or navy. PLEASE, please help me decide. Which one should I get?
Prada Pionnière – the white and black version or the velvet midnight blue are front runners, though the velvet blue has the edge at the moment.
J.W. Anderson Pierce – this navy bag speaks to me every time I see it. Should I pull the plug?
Fendi DotCom Click – the quilted black beauty with silver chain would fit right into my wardrobe. It also comes in light blue with black hardware but the classic black is a no-brainer.
Loewe Puzzle – understated but equally striking, those stitched puzzle panels make this a statement bag. This one has been on my mind for a while. Would you recommend it?
Simon Miller Bonsai 20 – I’ve done my homework and apparently this little bucket is a lot roomier than you’d think, though I’d like to find out for myself!
Givenchy Antigona Small – ladylike, sophisticated and as smooth as butter. I know she will be mine as some point.
Saint Laurent College Medium – the quilting, hardware and top handle get me every time. A timeless classic with an edge.
Other Things on my Mind…
If unlike me, you’re actually thinking of buying for other people right now I can highly recommend a Daniel Wellington watch. I’ve been road testing the Classic Sheffield 36 mm in black and silver and the Classic petite Melrose 32mm in rose gold and black. I’m wearing them with their matching cuffs, which are so beautiful.
