I’m not usually a cat person but Longchamp’s Fall 2016 collection has me craving all things feline. Animal print is set to be big news this Autumn and I’m starting to think I need more wild cat style in my life. When I was invited to pick out and shoot my favourite looks from Longchamp’s collection I jumped at the chance (who wouldn’t?!). This is the first of two outfits I put together and completely fell in love with. It’s just a pity I couldn’t keep the clothes!
You know I love blue and for this first look I went for a silk shirt and suede mini in navy. This look is an easy way to wear print without letting it dominate. I have to admit I don’t usually wear animal print in such an obvious way. I tend to incorporate it into my accessories, you know in bags or shoes but this pattern is subtle and not the typical yellow based animal print so I didn’t feel like I was wearing a pattern.
This outfit is definitely something I would wear again, to work or anywhere to be honest. The luxe silk blouse with bell sleeve is just incredible. So beautiful and really luxurious. The shirt also has black ruffles and a button clasp at the front for extra detail. The mini skirt is high-waisted with a tulip / scallop edging at the bottom. I’m tall (5 ft 8) but it didn’t feel too short, even when sitting down. It’s perfect for crisp Autumn days when you want to get your legs out but still have some coverage.
When you’re wearing animal print it’s best to keep the rest of your look understated and minimal so these ankle boots and navy handbag, also by Longchamp are the perfect pairing. I adore these boots, I may need to purchase!
Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamp’s Artistic Director describes the collection as ‘inspired by nature… adding a sensual, feminine touch to the Longchamp woman’s city look, combining vegetal and animal influences to cut a warm and luxurious figure‘. I couldn’t say it any better. This is my kind of animal inspired fashion – strong, feminine and sleek.
Are you a fan of animal print? I would love to know what you think of this look!
