OK so the first thing you need to know is these silver boots are on sale and at half price (£23!) they are most definitely worth grabbing. So as soon as you’ve read this click on the link below and purr-chase!

NO-ONE WANTS A SHINY FOREHEAD BUT SHINY CLOTHES & SHOES ARE OK

Ever since Gucci, Mulberry, Isabel Marant and Saint Laurent flaunted their shiny treasures on the runways pre-Spring the magpie in me knew I had to bring metallics into my wardrobe this season. So far this year I’ve added a silk bomber jacket with metallic embroidery (check out how I styled it here) and a pleated metallic skirt. I’m now thinking about getting my hands on THOSE metallic Gucci shoes.

The latest addition, these silver ankle boots, were found completely by accident. I was on one of my usual random wanders through Zara when I came across them tucked under one of the sale rails. The on-trend low heel, luxe finish and £23 price tag nailed it. Even at full price they’re worth it. Is there anything better than the thrill-of-the-find PLUS sale smugness? Nope.

THE LOOK

In a not at all surprising move I’m wearing another all-blue look, which as you know I naturally gravitate towards. Is that good branding or just plain old predictable? Anyway I paired my shiny boots with raw hems, a striped blazer and slogan sweater for a classic look with a twist. I love the proportions of the cropped culottes with the boots, leaving just enough room to fully appreciate those shiny beauties. And yes the high-waisted jeans and tucked-in sweater combo make me feel like an extra on That 70’s Show but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing (throwback moment).

I’M (MOSTLY) REAL

So obviously the boots are new but contrary to public belief I don’t buy new clothes every week or for the sake of a blog post and don’t tell anyone but some of what I’m wearing here is last season (I know, horrific). Don’t get me wrong, I have NOTHING against shopping or anyone who has the budget to wear new clobber every week. Though it’s something I’m conscious of when I’m pulling a look together. I don’t want you thinking that you have to buy new for every single look. You don’t, in fact you probably have most of the pieces in your wardrobe already. It’s just how you put it all together. Cue repeat offender behaviour.

For anything old I’m wearing here I’ve linked similar pieces below. The boots are new, the bag is new (on loan from a PR agency) and I found the striped Tibi blazer in stock which I absolutely adore!

Thanks for dropping! J xx
