It’s been a busy couple of weeks here but I am NOT complaining! Last week I attended the 11th Edition of Mode Suisse in Zurich with MAC Cosmetics and my blogger buddies CristinaSara and Burcu. I also had some agency meetings and picked out looks from the BA&SH and Longchamp spring / summer collections, I can’t wait to shoot some fresh looks. Anyone else done with winter?? I also had meetings with British brands in Switzerland so hopefully I’ll be bringing you an update on more collaborations soon…

Anyway, I wanted to tell you all about my experience at Mode Suisse. If you’re not familiar with Mode Suisse it promotes Swiss fashion to industry insiders, buyers, media, bloggers and the public through events, pop up stores and runway shows across Switzerland.

This was my first time at a Mode Suisse runway show. Unlike other fashion events where you have to run between venues to catch a show, Mode Suisse pulls everything together under the one roof so you see multiple shows back to back. It’s like an intense fashion week rolled up in one. I saw collections from Adrian Reber, enSoie, Garnison, HEAD Genève, Julia Seemann, Julian Zigerli, LIDA NOBA, LYN Lingerie, studiowinkler, WUETHRICHFUERST and Dorothee Vogel.

The invite from MAC included a backstage tour so I saw the models getting their makeup applied and prepping for the show. I was hoping to see more pre-show madness but as it turns out things were actually quite calm, oh and models do eat (witnessed with my own eyes).

The MAC artists showed us the two looks created for the show and also talked us through key make-up looks for next season. Thanks to Bon Parinya Wongwannawat for the amazing backstage photography.

Here are 5 (ok, 7, I couldn’t decide) of my favourite looks…

1…. The LYN Lingerie luxury handmade collection was truly exquisite. I’ve never seen a show dedicated entirely to lingerie and it was a testament to the designers, the looks really held their own. So stunning. I also made a mental note to cut back on the croissants and get back in the gym…

2… Hanging out with other bloggers  some new, some I’ve been following for ages but hadn’t met in person. Love this community.

3… Getting behind closed doors with MAC to see the pre-show prep. Thanks to MAC and Rita Beeler for having me!

4… Seeing the menswear collections especially the military inspired designs by Garnison – love a man in good tailoring.

5… Not getting make-up or food on the sleeves of this epic Ader Error sweater below (winning!).
