There’s been an exponential rise in the statement tee of late and everyone from celebrities to models to our favourite fashion bloggers is paying attention. Graphic t-shirts are having a moment. As trends go this one is 100% wearable plus you don’t have to spend big to get the look, but go ahead if you want to!
A vintage tee is best but if you don’t have time (or in my case patience) to scour second hand stores there are loads of options available for all budgets. Failing that have a rummage through his closet to unearth vintage treasures.
How to Wear
When it comes to how to wear, there are no rules. Jeans and a tee will always work well together but a printed t-shirt looks just as good with a tailored suit, a pleated metallic skirt, chic trousers or a leather skirt.

How I’m Wearing My Statement Tee
I picked up this tee by Anine Bing in one of my favourite stores, Anderswo Zurich. They have a range of cool tees by Anine Bing, Sincerely Jules and American Vintage. So if you’re in the area, definitely drop by.
I’m wearing my tee with a pair of skinny grey jeans from Zara that I’ve had for years. Ok, skinny jeans may be ‘out’ in favour of the looser straight leg style but don’t shoot me, I’ll always love them. I paired them with these gorgeous snake print heels from The Mode Collective. I love the barely-there design and despite the heel height they’re actually really comfortable.
I went for a head to toe grey look so added one of my favourite grey bags – the mini Marcie by Chloe. Side note on this bag – it might look small but it’s deceivable roomy and doesn’t age, which is good because I can be a bit rough with my bags, but as badly as I treat it, it still looks brand spankin’ new. I recommend you get one, pronto.
