I don’t know about you but I LOVE this time of year and any excuse to wear cosy layers, so as autumn kicked in proper this week in Dublin the prospect of wearing a luxe knit by designer and knitwear legend Genevieve Sweeney tickled me just a little!
Not your average knit
There are certain designers you follow and look forward to seeing what they create. Genevieve Sweeney, the designer and driving force behind the brand is one such talent and her innovative AW 2017 collection doesn’t disappoint.
As with all Genevieve Sweeney pieces there’s a story behind the product. The Rea slouch jumper I’m wearing here starts life in the Geelong area of Australia where it’s lambswool is specially sourced. But it really comes into its own among the family owned mills of Britain where state of the art technology, colour laboratories and artisan skills and expertise is applied. That’s what I love about this brand. There’s purpose and attention to detail at every step. Genevieve Sweeney knitwear is a luxury product from a trusted brand. They don’t do ordinary!

The thing with wearing sweaters at this time of year is I feel like I’m cheating or not really making an effort. But when it’s cosy AND looks this good I really shouldn’t apologise (so I won’t!). I’m wearing the Rea Lambswool sweater in Hurricane Blue. An appropriate shade for Dublin as it turns out because it always seems to blow a gale when I wear it.
I like playing with textures so for me the combination of wool and (faux) leather is always a winner. And as I’m loving all things check these days this trench coat from Zara has weedled (is that a word?!) its way onto the coat rack. Happy days.
