The sun’s out for a hot minute, everyone on Instagram seems to either be in a tropical country or is living their best life at Coachella (yes I have major FOMO and am insanely jealous!) but I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to dressing for this Winter-themed Spring the rest of us are having.
Ditch the Coat
A cosy knit is the perfect replacement for a top and coat combo. Plus it’s a lot easier than taking your coat off and on every time your body temps spike in a shop or cafe (that just me?). Try a cropped length or off-the-shoulder sweater in a seasonal shade like lemon, sky blue, lilac, pink or mint green. It’s the easiest way to feel like you’ve moved on from Winter without losing essential body heat.
Crop your Denim
I got these Topshop cropped wide leg jeans last month and honesty I’ve been wearing them SO much. The length is perfect for some ankles-on-show (I recommend adding tanned legs for maximum impact). I’m wearing them with heels but they also look great with flats and sneakers. At £40 I think they’re one of my best buys of the year so far. Confashion: wide leg jeans and trousers are my secret weapon this season so expect to see them a LOT here on the blog…!
Add a Statement Summer bag
If I could harness the power of a great bag I would be unstoppable! I’m a huge fan of shoes and bags – they have the ability to transform any outfit from Blah to Ahh! Imagine how this jeans and knit combo would look with a heavy leather bag and boots? Completely different right? Wooden, straw and raffia bags are on trend right now and they scream summer. Add one to your outfit for instant sunshine approval.
I’m wearing the Cult Gaia Ark bag which I picked up last year and used it for most of the Spring and Summer. It gets a lot of attention when I’m out and about. Not surprising really, it’s a work of art! If you’re thinking of getting one make sure you check out my honest review of the bag here. I do love this bag but there are things you should know before you buy.
